I need to get my tumblr seen by people that fuck with media like Annihilation. It was a favorite movie of mine and recently I read the book. I immediately bought the other two books that are out. Where lies the strangling fruit that came from the hand of the sinner I shall bring forth the seeds of the dead to share with the worms that gather in the darkness and surround the world with the power of their lives while from the dimlit halls of other places forms that never were and never could be writhe for the impatience of the few who never saw what could have been. In the black water with the sun shining at midnight, those fruit shall come ripe and in the darkness of that which is golden shall split open to reveal the revelation of the fatal softness...

okay we ended up watching annihilation and I loved every fucking second, it was so extremely my shit it's not even funny. coolest freakiest most beautiful movie I've ever seen. 10/10 great flick.

I found the annihilation series at the book store and I am so excited to read this. I've watched the Dan Olsen video on metaphors in the movie so many times and then finally watched the movie back in November and I've only heard good things about the book so I am really excited

Only about 20 pages in but I really like it. I still really like the movie but the vibes are definitely way different

I feel like the names and personal stuff were super important to the impact and themes of the movie yet in the book the biologist says that she never even bothered to learn their names because the personal doesn't matter here

The tower is also fascinating to me, especially with how they depicted it as the light house in the movie. So far, I think their change makes a lot of sense because it is so hard to convey the uncanny feeling that the biologist feels when looking at this tower that delves into the earth instead of rising above it in a visual way that is accurate to the book
